Monique Wheeler, Owner, L.Ac., Dipl. OM

Monique Wheeler AcupuncturistMonique is a fully Licensed Acupuncturist (L.Ac) by the State of Illinois, and a Diplomate of Oriental Medicine (Dipl. OM). She is board certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, and holds a Master’s of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, Chicago. Pacific College’s Master’s degree program is an in-depth, rigorous study of Acupuncture, Oriental Medicine theory, Chinese herbalism and biomedicine that lasts approximately four years.

Prior to becoming an acupuncturist, Monique studied geography at Louisiana State University, earning a B.A. and M.A. in the subject and working as a city planner for ten years before studying acupuncture. She decided to become an acupuncturist after experiencing significant health benefits through treatment. Her personal experience of better health through acupuncture solidified a desire to help others experience emotional and physical well being. She is committed to helping her patients on their path to better health and to providing the best care possible.

Ioana Vanca, L.Ac., Dipl. OM

Ioana Vanca, L.Ac., Dipl. OM, is an Acupuncturist and Herbalist licensed by the State of Illinois and board certified in Acupuncture and Oriental medicine by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). Ioana completed her Master’s Degree at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, Chicago, where she studied with leading professors and practitioners. The four-year curriculum consists of over 2800 hours of training in acupuncture and herbology, practical clinical experience and adjunct therapies including Tui Na massage, cupping, gua sha, moxibustion, eastern and western nutrition, electric stimulation and auriculotherapy.

Ioana’s passion focuses on women’s health, female fertility, pain management and psycho-emotional conditions. Her goal is to create harmony by combining the Traditional Eastern method of healing with the understanding of our current environment and influences that impact our health.
